It is 8:00AM, when we approach and drop anchor in a misty Gros Morne national park. Located on the West coast of the island of Newfoundland, this park displays stunning sceneries resulting from the action of glacial erosion on the Long Range Mountains. Several options are offered to the passengers this morning: we can either go for a hike on the barren hills, take an interpretative walk with one of the park’s guide to discover the very unique geology of the area or spend some time in the little village of Woody Point to buy some souvenirs or taste some jams made with local berries. Later in the afternoon, lectures on cetaceans are given by the naturalists Aude and Jean-Pierre. Naturalists are called to the bridge. Two fin whales and several white nosed dolphins are sighted. Later, we reach the Northern coats of Quebec. In the evening a classical music concert takes place with the ship’s pianist, Volodymyr Slakva.
